Vincent Vizkelety

Vincent Vizkelety

Vincent was born in 1989 in Switzerland to a Hungarian mother. After living in Switzerland for his first 20 years, he decided to move to Budapest where he initially worked as a librarian and then went on to study Development Studies and work for diplomatic missions and international organizations. He has always loved history, and currently works on various project aimed at bringing people closer to their past, using small physical details from the past such as old graffiti, faded signs, or decaying facades to explore old stories and learn more from people who lived in Budapest before 1945. Vincent has realized that this "bottom-up" approach is a good way to engage people for whom these concrete "traces from the past" are more tangible and easier to understand than bigger historical events.
